Bauma CHINA 2020 opened from Nov24^th to 27^th, and the eyes of the global construction machinery industry were focused on it. And the SensorExpert was attracted to come here.
According to the official data, that is more than 3000 exhibitors from 40 countries around the world have gathered in the 300,000 square meter exhibition space of Shanghai Bauma Exhibition, showcasing tens of thousands of latest products and equipment, more than 190,000 visitors.  The scale is not inferior to the previous one, it is eagerly anticipated by exhibitors from China and abroad! In addition, more than 30 domestic and foreign media, channels, online platforms live coverage of 33 countries and regions, reaching 3.5 million users.  

During the exhibition, SensorExpert network was honored to interview Mr. Luo Peng who is the product manager of Woosens Technology, during the exhibition, SensorExpert was honored to interview Mr. Luopeng who is the Product Manager of Woosens, which gave our media a change to know more about the development status of domestic sensor manufacturers.

SensorExpert: Would you please introduce what is main business of your company?

Mr. LuoPeng: Woosens Technology Co., has been focusing on sensor control and Internet of Things applications for a long time, and is committed to providing customers with the best sensor and Internet of Things solutions. Our products mainly focus on attitude measurement and its derived inertial attitude measurement products, including static Inclinometer, dynamic Inclinometer, electronic compass, etc. Customized products based on basic products combined with market applications.

SensorExpert: For your company’s flagship product with the attitude tilt sensor, Can you introduce it how to working principle in detail?

Mr. LuoPeng:  When the Inclinometer is stationary, there is no acceleration, so only the acceleration of gravity acts on it, and the angle between the vertical axis of gravity and the sensitive axis of the acceleration sensor is the inclination angle. However, the static inclination measurement is only applicable to static and quasi-static conditions, but the object to be measured is often in motion. At this time, to measure the attitude, a dynamic tilt angle is needed, and a gyroscope is added to the dynamic tilt angle based on the static tilt angle. The Kalman filter algorithm is used to fuse the data of acceleration sensor and gyroscope to realize the attitude measurement in motion. Of course, the attitude of an object is not only the inclination angle, but also the azimuth angle, which needs to be measured by geomagnetic sensors.

SensorExpert: What are the main applications for Inclinometer?

Mr. Luopeng: Inclinometers can be used to measure the angle of chassis and boom of construction machinery and aerial work platform, and can also be used to monitor the deformation and displacement of houses, bridges and dams, hillsides, the attitude of iron tower and vehicles.

SensorExpert: Thanks! We have a general understanding of the application of Inclinometers, but can we talk more specifically about the application scenario of inclination sensor in construction machinery?  

Mr. Luopeng:  Inclinometers are widely used in construction machinery. For example, the classis of cranes, pump trucks and aerial work platforms need to be installed with inclination to realize leveling function. In crane booms, climbing fire engines, pump truck booms and other equipment, Inclinometers can be used to monitor the lifting angle of booms. In rotary drilling, the verticality of drill bits can be measured. There are many other applications.

SensorExpert: Could you please tell us from a technical point of view, what advantages the Inclinometer has in the application of construction machinery?
 
Mr. Luopeng:  In construction machinery and aerial work platforms, the Inclinometer is mainly used to monitor the angle of classis and boom, which is closely related to the working safety of equipment. Because the Inclinometer measures based on the acceleration of gravity of the earth, the measured angle is an absolute angle with the direction of acceleration of gravity. For chassis leveling, It is necessary to know the absolute horizontal angle. The angle of the boom can be monitored by an angle sensor with magnetoresistance effect, and can also be monitored by an Inclinometer. The installation of the magnetoresistance angle sensor needs to be installed at the rotating shaft center, and the rotating shaft must drive the axis of the magnetoresistance angle sensor to rotate, which has higher requirements on installation and use, while the Inclinometer is strictly lossless installation. Non-contact measurement, so in terms of flexibility of installation and use, Inclinometer is far better than magnetoresistive angle sensor.

Mr. Luopeng:  This exhibition brings WDS series dynamic Inclinometers to meet the requirement of motion and attitude measurement in construction machinery application to meet the application requirements of construction machinery, WDS dynamic Inclinometers measure inclination based on CAN bus communication output, and support J1939 and CANopen communication products, which can meet the angle measurement requirements of the customers under various fast motion and vibration conditions.
